The Sea of Tranquility – Katja Millay

I can’t even put my emotions into words, I’m not sure how to even write a review that this book deserves or to even sum it up. This is one of the best books I have ever read and I know it one that will stay with me for a long time.

I’ve seen this book everywhere I can now understand why it’s so highly recommended, I’m kicking myself that I didn’t pick it up sooner. If you haven’t read this book you need to stop what you are doing and start.
It’s amazing and for it being the first book from this author it’s incredible.

This book is Heartbreaking, it’s beautiful and can’t be put into words it has to be experienced for yourself.

The whole way through I was dying to know the secrets, they were released slowly and I had the image of the author doing a *Mic Drop* every time something was revealed. This isn’t an instalove book, it isn’t filled with sex or petty drama, – it’s about love, pain, strength and healing.

The characters are broken and messed up, they deal with things that you wouldn’t wish on your enemy and you fall in love with them.

“Daylight won’t protect you from anything. bad things happen all the time; they don’t wait until after dinner.”

“I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.”

I found myself cheering for the characters, having to get to the end of the book to see what happens to them – I needed to know they were okay!

“I know at the moment what he’s given me and it isn’t a chair. It’s an invitation, a welcome, the knowledge that I am accepted here. He hasn’t given me a place to sit. He’s given me a place to belong.”

This is an instant favourite of mine and a highly recommended read.

I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Former piano prodigy Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her—her identity, her spirit, her will to live—pay.

Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at seventeen years old, there is no one left. Now all he wants is be left alone and people allow it because when your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, the mysterious new girl at school who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. But the more he gets to know her, the more of an enigma she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he will ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding—or if he even wants to.

The Sea of Tranquility is a rich, intense, and brilliantly imagined story about a lonely boy, an emotionally fragile girl, and the miracle of second chances.

Beneath These Lies – Meghan March

“A cop, a gang leader, and the daughter of a judge.”

25955030Wow! So I started this book late one night and finished it off the next morning. It was great! Half the time I wasn’t sure what was going on, so many twists and turns in the story I really needed to get to the end to see what happens, I couldn’t put it down. I don’t want to give too much away with this book, it’s best going in blind so I won’t say too much about it otherwise it will just ruin it for you. – Im just going to tell you how much I loved it!

I waited a long time to read this and I was not disappointed! Meghan March has proved again why she is one of my all time favourite authors.I know this will be one of my favourite reads for this year, it was amazing. It kinda makes me want to go back and read all the books in the beneath series again… Hmm maybe I will!
Meghan March is that author that I one click without needing to read the blurb. Pick this book up and you will understand why. I cannot give this book enough praise!

Must read for fans of the Beneath series – this is one of the best & a Must Read for people looking for a romance thats a little rough around the edges.

Me Before You

15507958Why, Why, WHY!!? I never cry while reading books, it is very very rare but after finishing this book I was a mess which isn’t really what you want while on holidays. TIP: Do Not Read This Book While You Are On Holidays! Maybe read it over a weekend where you have at least one day to recover but it may take longer than that.

So I picked this book up because I saw the trailer and wanted to read the novel before seeing the movie – probably because I’m one of those people ‘the book was better than the movie’ people who sit there and point out what is missing from the movie, I try not to be but I can’t help it. Well I’m just glad I read it before seeing it in the cinemas so at least I have a heads up that I will most likely be an emotional mess in public and should wear waterproof mascara that day.

Me Before You is the story of Clark who after losing her long term job at the local cafe takes a job as a carer for Will who became quadriplegic after a motorbike accident. Will is not coping well with his disability and his mother hopes that Clarks unique view on life will help him come to terms with his new circumstances. Clark goes into her new job hoping to help Will see a new take on life but what unexpectedly happens is Will inspires Clark to take more chances and start living her life to the fullest.

“You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”

I loved the characters – all of them. They all have there faults but as the story progresses and shows each characters point of view, you start to understand how each person is dealing/coping under extreme circumstances .
Go into this book with an open mind and a pack of tissues. Me Before You is an emotional rollercoaster that will stay with you long after you have turned the final page. The story is filled to the Brim with emotions and deals with difficult subject matter. Jojo Moyes writes in a way that shows respect to the characters and I feel give them a story they deserve – No Wonder they are turning it into a movie!

“Push yourself. Don’t Settle. Just live well. Just LIVE.”

I highly recommend this book to people looking for a story with substance and not your ordinary love story – I actually wouldn’t call it a love story but I’m not sure what else to call it.

There is a sequel but I can’t see myself reading it, I just feel like it would take away from what a great story Me Before You is, but I could be wrong.

Cant wait for the movie – Heres the link to the Movie Trailer if you haven’t seen it already

Wrong

26224667Title: Wrong

Author: Jana Aston

Genre: Romance

Pages: 206

Release Date: October 7th 2015

Source: Bought

So this is Jana Aston’s first book? No Freaking Way! It’s way too good to be a debut novel! Its funny, sometimes cringe worthy and a pretty amazing read – I didn’t put it down I read it in one sitting, This book is my excuse for drinking way too many cups of coffee for one day, So worth the bags under my eyes.

Wrong is the story of Sophie who is a senior in college and works in a coffee shop close to campus. Luke is a regular customer who comes in once a week to buy a coffee and she has a major crush on him but does nothing about it. She goes to the student clinic to get birth control pills and while her legs are in the air in walks the hot guy from the coffee shop – He is the gynecologist!

giphy-7

So what happens when a virgin and a gynecologist meet? You get a great read that’s what. When I first read the blurb for this book I didn’t know what the book would be like, a romance read that has a gynecologist? I was skeptical and I thought It might be a little weird but It surprisingly wasn’t, It somehow just works.

My favorite quote from the book has to come from Sophie’s best friend

“Bitch, please. The guy is pushing forty and you’re a hot co-ed with a brand-new, shiny pussy. He’ll be back.”

& Another favorite is

“I’m fairly sure I ovulate right then and there.”

So whom would I recommend this book to? Can I say everyone?! If you are looking for a laugh read this. Warning it will probably make you blush so It’s better left read in private – Its not a book you want to be reading on Public transport, Take my word on that one!

Monster Prick

26046572Title: Monster Prick (Screwed 1.5)

Author: Kendall Ryan

Genre: Romance

Pages: 138

Release Date: November 17th 2015

Source: Bought

Links: Goodreads

So this is a novella spin off from Screwed based on two of the featured characters from the book. Hudson is the best friend and Gracie is the sister of Hayden. So yes this is one of those romances.

The only crime worse than messing with your best friend’s lover is messing with his sister.

Arrogant. Cocky. Prick. Those are the words I’d use to describe my older brother’s dangerously handsome best friend.

giphy-5

I LOVED this book, more than Screwed to be honest. Its quick read at only 138 pages and the only bad thing I have to say about this novella is its too short I WANT MORE. I LOVED the characters, There were no boring parts and no annoying scenes – I literally have nothing bad to say about and I could just keep talking about how great it is or I can just say read it! You wont regret it!!

If you are a fan of Screwed this is a must read.
